Shuttle service and golf cart will be new experiments
28 satellite parking locations identified in the outskirts of the city

 

Garhwal Pratishtha,Dehradun : To make the traffic system in Mussoorie convenient, easy and well-organized, Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi reviewed the action plan prepared by the District Administration Dehradun and the Police Department at the Secretariat. Under the action plan, a sustainable and environmentally friendly style will be adopted while working on innovative solutions to solve the traffic problem in Mussoorie.

Along with this, the travel experience of tourists will also be made more pleasant and comfortable. Under the action plan, efforts will also be made to benefit the local people and communities. Under the new action plan, after the parking arrangement in the city is completed, tourists will get the facility of shuttle service and golf cart from the parking places to their destinations.

When the parking arrangement at Hathipaon is completed, its initial route will be from Kincraig to Picture Palace and Gandhi Chowk. This shuttle service will be operated specially during the peak season. Local rickshaw drivers will be trained, which will strengthen the local economy. Kincraig and satellite parking have been identified on the Hathipaon Band.

 

Police booths, shuttle booths, parking, lighting, security and public facilities will be developed here. Coordination will be done with local taxi service operators so that new employment opportunities are created and services are improved.

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi has directed to promote the shuttle service through various means to attract tourists. She directed for regular monitoring and review of shuttle services for the convenience and satisfaction of the tourists.

Along with this, the CS has also directed to analyze the traffic flow and take feedback from the tourists for the success of the shuttle service. She has directed the Municipal Commissioner Dehradun to arrange and use adequate number of cattle catchers to catch stray animals in Mussoorie and Dehradun.

The District Administration and Police Department informed that to overcome the problem of traffic congestion in Mussoorie, 28 satellite parking places have been identified on the outskirts of the city, which are strategically located along the road.

At these designated places, tourists will park their vehicles and use shuttle services for further travel in Mussoorie. The aim of this initiative is to reduce the influx of private vehicles in the city center, smoothen the traffic flow, enhance the convenience of visitors and preserve the natural charm of the area.

 

Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi said that implementation of a solid and effective traffic plan is necessary in Mussoorie due to the pressure of local residents and tourists and the problem of traffic congestion, excessive use of private vehicles and limited parking space and environmental reasons.

Under the action plan, police booths will be set up at parking places for the convenience of tourists and passengers and to keep the traffic system well organized. An app will also be launched for real time data information of parking.
